building projects

Please find below details of some building projects we have recently undertaken

Garage Door

We work with structural engineers to obtain plans when installation of steel work is required.  Not only is this often a legal requirement, but it provides appropriate assurances that the work is done correctly.

Our client wanted to remove the two double garage doors, and insert a single garage door spanning the entire width.

image21

An appropriate steel was designed by our structural engineer.  We removed the wall after supporting the load from above using steel props.

image22

Steels are inserted into the opening according to the specification on the structural plan (in this case using a spreader plate)

image23

Brick work was repaired

The next step in the process was to get our partners to measure the new opening size so the new garage door could be manufactured.   In the meantime, we temporarily resealed the opening using the existing doors and a timber central section. ensuring the old doors were still operational.

Hormann Garage Door DecoGrain

A Hormann sectional garage door, with deco-grain finish was installed into the opening

Bi-fold door installation

Our client didn't want to be disturbed by the building work or weather, so we erected a temporary partition a few feet away from the back wall.

The steel work was inserted after the wall was removed and the load from room above supported by props.
