Please find below details of some building projects we have recently undertaken
We work with structural engineers to obtain plans when installation of steel work is required. Not only is this often a legal requirement, but it provides appropriate assurances that the work is done correctly.
Our client wanted to remove the two double garage doors, and insert a single garage door spanning the entire width.
An appropriate steel was designed by our structural engineer. We removed the wall after supporting the load from above using steel props.
Steels are inserted into the opening according to the specification on the structural plan (in this case using a spreader plate)
Brick work was repaired
The next step in the process was to get our partners to manufacture the garage door. In the meantime, we temporarily resealed the opening using the existing doors and a timber central section. ensuring the old doors were still operational.
A Hormann sectional garage door, with deco-grain finish was installed into the opening
The Project specification was to remove the top section of the chimney, replace the soffits, facia and guttering
The top section of the chimney was removed, existing wooden soffits and facia were completely removed and replaced with modern upvc materials
New guttering was also installed giving the roofline a fresh new look.

Fill in and compaction with hard core to provide the paving slabs with a solid foundation
Installation of concrete paving slabs according to our clients specification.
An old creaky, drafty and un-insultated timber subfloor was demolished and the area cleaned
New concrete block piers were installed and new timbers used to create a new subfloor
Celotex Insulation was installed and sealed using expanding foam to ensure a well insulated subfloor

Our client didn't want to be disturbed by the building work or weather, so we erected a temporary partition a few feet away from the back wall.
The steel work was inserted after the wall was removed and the load from room above supported by props.

Our client wanted to remove the fireplace for installation of a wood burning stove.
Lintel was installed to support the weight of the load above
The area was plastered, and we left the area clean ready for the client to decorate as agreed.
